microwaveable 'PokeCake Treat' recipe by Domiric microwaveable 'PokeCake Treat' recipe by Domiric
x - These are for eating right out of the cup!

x - Very good with a scoop of icecream!

x - For an extra bit of pizazz, try making it with instant mocha cappuccino mix!

I found the original recipe for 'microwaveable brownies' a long while ago but I've made my own modifications to it. It always turned out like more of a cake to me. A little squishy and not so fluffy, but very cake-like.

Stirring the dry ingredients before adding the liquid ones really helps prevent lumps while stirring later on. (I recommend using a fork, but a spoon works just fine, it's whatever you want to eat it with when you're done.) - Oh, speaking of, it's totally safe to eat raw, but it really does taste better cooked.

It's a little crazy how fast ingredients for this seem to disappear... they're just so delicious, I can't stop making them! There are times where I've had to substitute for lack of sugar (more cocoa!) or lack of cocoa (I've tried specialty flavor hot chocolate packets, like 'white chocolate', which have a little bit more in them necessary). I'm sure the original recipe called for baker's chocolate, but I definitely didn't have any of that. At first I made it with Ovaltine chocolate milk mix, and then later, with SwissMiss Hot Cocoa packets. Now I'm just using some instant mocha cappuccino mix because it's powdered and chocolate. ^_^;

Good luck! Feel free to share your results.

Um, if you like Pokémon, look at my other artwork, too? Maybe? I'm getting a lot of favs on just this one thing...

pretty good; it reminds me of caramel even though there is none in it (i know weird)... i think adding caramel sauce to it would taste really good and compliment the flavor:)

I haven't tried it with cake mix, myself... someone else mentioned they used strawberry syrup as flavoring instead (didn't turn out like a cake, but apparently it tasted good). No matter what, it's safe to eat... so if you can think of something you want to flavor it with, you can probably do it.

Of course it's safe, it's got no eggs in it, who would think oil/flour/sugar/cocoa/water isn't safe to eat....?

Ingredients fly by pretty fast. It might be cheaper just to buy a box of cake mix. (Probably why barely anyone makes real cake from scratch these days, too... cost!) Still, I hope your siblings find it tasty~

As a warning, these take a while to cool down. If you're going to make more than one, anyway, it wouldn't hurt to put them in the fridge/freezer to cool down while the next one is cooking.

I used instant pudding mix and it turned out a wee bit thicker and didn't rise (I think I added too much flour) and it came out like a hot pound cake. XD Excellent nonetheless.

No matter what the ingredients are safe to eat (no egg and all), so the only real downside to experimentation is the clean up factor. Pudding mix sounds interesting... o3o

How did it turn out with using a syrup instead of a powder? (For a while I was thinking of replacing the sugar with agave syrup but I was afraid the outcome would be too an odd mass of delicious and not a cake... which may be what you got?) But mmm... strawberry flavoring...

I found this recipe a few weeks ago on tumblr! It's very good, although I add a little less sugar than meant to, and I use drinking chocolate / milo because I don't have any cocoa. Cx I think it's very adorable the way you've set it out! :D

:3 Cool, cool. I think any powdered chocolate would work. (Like I said, I started making it with instant chocolate-flavored coffee, the sort that goes right into hot water.)

Ah, yeah. The recipe I saw asked to cook it for 1 minute and 40 seconds, and I believe they must have a hotter microwave because I cook mine like yours, for 2 minutes up to 2 minutes and 30 seconds. My microwave is 800 watts.
Did it taste good with the chocolate-flavoured coffee? Could you taste coffee?

Yes, but I bought the instant coffee mix over last winter and I liked it, I just never got around to finishing off the container before spring set in... When I ran out of ordinary chocolate I decided to use it instead and it was good. >w<

Aaahhh~ Cool! I'm not totally into coffee, but I don't mind some coffee-flavoured things. Cx I was wondering if I should try it with some weak coffee or something. It's actually a little bit too sweet for me with the drinking chocolate. I add less sugar and a bit less chocolate, but ... I just can't get it correct! xD

I suppose you could try unsweetened baker's chocolate, because I'm sure that comes in a powdered form? I'd say for every spoonful of sugar you remove, add in a spoonful more flour. It is a very sweet recipe...

Hmmmmm... That sounds good. I usually eat 3/4 of it then give the rest to my mum. xD I wonder how the creator could stand it's sweetness. I also like adding the dash of salt. I'm not sure what the point of it is though.

I was emailed a recipe very similar to this a few years ago, it is so good! But I always cooked it for five minutes, I will definitely have to try it with the "syrup" at the bottom.

That's good to know, so I hope others find that helpful. I've always been afraid of overcooking it because it really changes the texture. I notice it's always really hot when I take it out and it has to cool for longer than I cooked it for, so it's almost like it isn't done cooking when I take it out, either.
